A disparate group of young urban offenders and their care workers embark on a community service weekend in the strange, remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides on keeping itself to itself. A minor incident with some local inbred youths rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare for all involved.
Split Second Films came on board the project early days and when various scripts were being considered. When the script for INBRED was produced everyone loved the story and characters and Split Second Films producer Margaret Milner Schmueck took up the helm as delegate producer. The project went in to early prep in May 2010, principal photography took place in Thirsk, Yorkshire during August 2010 and the film rich in VFX spent a year in post production was premièred at London’s Frightfest in August 2011. In January 2012 Arclight’s label Darclight came on board as world sales agents.
